things about school that make me feel old.
1) the immunization forms ask about when i recieved the chicken pox vaccine. as if.

dittos? i'm older than you and i'm not sure i know what you mean.
what?! don't remember dittos? the smell of that purple ink. i can close my eyes and smell it even now...
dittos were the (earlier?) version of xerox copies that we had in grade school. when they were fresh off the ditto machine the paper was damp and smelled like ... ah, purple ditto ink.
I LOVE the smell of ditto ink!! And if the ditto'd worksheet was hot off the ditto machine, you'd get purple ink on your hands (and the end of your nose if you smelled the paper too closely.)
that also happened with the mister sketch smelly markers. we always called them smelly markers, even though that doesn't make them sound very desirable . . . but i remembe the cool thing to do was to color the styrofoam tray they came in so that each marker lay in its own colored trough . . . the black one smelled like licorice, and the turquoise one was--i always thought, what's turquoise that smells? it had some random ambivalent tropical fruit flavor smell.
i have these great photos of chris carving our pumpkin and blogger won't let me post. boo.
