a wedding that involved us only peripherally.
we took time out to go see my good friend zach get married yesterday. having gone to college in the days before digital cameras that fit in altoid boxes, i don't have any "before" snapshots to share with you (actually, there's a really good one of him and me backstage clutching a stuffed elmo, and one of him shaving off his chekhovian beard a piece at a time, leaving him variously with a trucker mustache, backstage boy goatee and ridiculous soul strip).
he looked pretty grown up last night, though. we were both so used to bemoaning our unlikeness in love that i think we were both caught by surprise by our respective large happinesses, both of which get codfied this month into legally binding partnerships. weird. twelve years ago we were smoking weed out of a diet coke can.
in retrospect, i should have taken more pictures. i hate experiencing a wedding from behnd a point-and-shoot camera, though, and i don't like for the bride and groom to have to deal with any more shutters and flashes than they have to.
