i don't think it's any mystery whose side of the writers' strike this household is on, but i gulped a little when i read this (may require password) in the new york times, re: the horrors of losing _the daily show_:
"Losing Stewart and Colbert [during the run up to Iowa and New Hampshire primaries] is something like losing Cronkite during the Vietnam War."
that's someone from the WGA, not the times writer. and i don't know what's gulpier, the sacrilege or that he's kind of right.
