raining in LA.

i mean, what were the chances?

it was pouring, and when i ran out to the drug store with a newspaper over my head to buy an umbrella, they didn't have any. because they don't stock them. because it's los angeles.

my interviews at UCLA went well. nothing definitive has been said, either about admission or financial aid, so keep thinking good thoughts. item: i did get to walk on the red carpet where the academy awards happened, on my way with a college friend to have shabu shabu in a restaurant near the kodak theatre. it was pretty unremarkable. (the carpet, i mean; japanese food with a friend is almost always a thing to be celebrated.)

mostly, i'm glad to be home, and not figuring out freeways or hawking my academic project. it was a surprisingly exhausting little trip. and there's a lot of homework waiting.

i did drink three fat tires before i left the west coast, though. so good.

Come to Olympia. We have Fat Tire. All the time. And you wouldn't need a designated driver afterward.
