here comes the sun.

so. my giant, crazy presentation in my big, scary queer theory class is finished. and chris closed his show. and this is my last weekend in TML. so, all in all, things are winding down.

people occasionally ask about the wedding. and i have to say, actually, we're not doing much right now. we've made the decisions that can be made for now, and the others are just sort of not here yet. on the trip home for christmas, we're going to try to taste some cake, so . . . there's that. if you know of some cake we should taste, say so.

and the mama is coming in october, so we'll go look at some dresses. i'm feeling pretty calm about it. i still think my ring is a small tiny perfect amazement, but i'm not getting hot flashes about it anymore. maybe the dress will make me sweat a little.

really, though. it's all pretty smooth. and i have columbus day off, so i might just take chris out for a pic-nic. since we have everything under control.

bus, magic bus!

i have tickets to see The Who tonight at madison square garden. and the seats do not suck.

NYU was giving them out for free. sadly, i cannot go and neither can chris. some guys from work are going in our stead.

i'm a tiny bit sad that The Who has to paper their house (and it's a big house, but still). but sadder to miss it. sigh, tommy.

very sad face.

some loser stole our bikes!

from a locked room.

i feel terribly guilty; if we'd u-locked them to the racks the wicked theif probably would have chosen someone else's bikes to heist. but since no one can get in the bike room without a key . . . and it's such a safe building . . .

i feel like i let my bike down.

we've reported it and they're looking at the security camera tapes. luckily chris rode his bike somewhere on friday and so knows both of them were in their spots a couple days ago. and, similarly luckily, my river city bicycles water bottle was not in the cage when the bike was taken. but the sweet bell and the seat bag lovingly packed by my dad and the bike itself, which was a particularly lovely gift, these things appear to be gone, and that sucks.

i hope whoever did it needs them more than we do.

the ring.

it's not the best photo ever. in fact, there can be no best photo ever because no picture can look the way it looks in the light. it is agressively sparkly. totally classy. eminently dainty. i could not love it more.
